In
2007, Beate Steger walked 900km from St-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de
Compostela and then onto Finisterre. In this DVD she describes her
journey on the Camino Francés with pictures, film, music and original
sound recordings as well as six other alternative routes to Santiago
that avoid the main stream of pilgrims. There are, for instance, the
Coastal Route which is walked by 5000 pilgrims each year, or the
Primitive Route which is considered to be the oldest of all the pilgrim
routes. By carefully combining these routes you can plan your own
personal route that guarantees the amount of solitude you require while
still including some of the highlights of the main route since all the
alternative routes join up with the Camino Francés at some point. This
is a comprehensive and authentic documentation of this popular
pilgrimage, including many practical tips for your own pilgrimage. The
DVD has a menu control and chapter selection.
