Riding the Milky Way

SKU: Riding the Milky Way Categories: , Tags: , ,

Paul and I decided to follow our road to the stars from le Puy en Velay to Santiago de Compostela and just as Aimery Picaud (author of the Liber Sancti Jacobi and first guidebook writer for the St. James Way) and his even more affluent and influential contemporaries did we chose to travel on horseback, but this is where the similarities stop. Neither affluent nor influential, we are two very ordinary people who managed to fulfil a dream by pooling our meagre resources, putting ourselves at the mercy of the Milky Way and seeing how far our three horses and dog were prepared to take us.
Written by Babette Gallard, first published by the Long Riders Guild in 2006.
Black and white; 225 pages;203 x 127 mm
