A rockfall has been reported on the steep but picturesque climb from Mouthier-Haute-Pierre to the source of the Loue. To avoid this problem there are a number of options:- in Stage 42 at waypoint 24.1 take the alternate historic route via Nods, in Stage 43 at waypoint 12.8 take the cyclist route out of the valley and join the historic route, in stage 44 take the D67 for approximately 3.5 km and immediately after passing the balustraded viewpoint over the gorge take the signposted path down the steps to the right and regain the “official route ” in the car park beside the source of the Loue – beware this is a narrow winding road often with no pavements/sidewalks or take the bus from Mouthier-Haute-Pierre to Pontarlier. The rockfall was reported to be cleared and the path passable 8/7/2022. A more recent pilgrim reported that the path is still unstable and dangerous 27/7/2022.
The Ornans Tourist Office on 29/3/2023 confirmed that the path is closed and propose the alternative on the map. The diversion rejoins the GR®145 in the car park above the Source and beside the “Chalet de la Loue” restaurant.
