Alexandra Huddleston is a photographer, book artist, publisher and pilgrim. In the course of her career, she has lived for ten months in one of the manuscripts libraries of Timbuktu, Mali, and walked three of the world’s most important pilgrimages—in Spain, France, and Japan. Her work has been published and exhibited internationally. Among other honors, she has received a Fulbright Grant, and her prints are in the collections of the US Library of Congress, the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art, and the British Library. Huddleston has published several photography book and poetry chapbooks, including Lost Things, 333 Saints: A Life of Scholarship in Timbuktu, and East or West: A Walking Journey Along Shikoku’s 88 Temple Pilgrimage.
