A couple of weeks back I asked this year’s pilgrims if there was knowledge of the status of the blockages to the route in Les Gorges de Nouailles at the head of the Loue Valley and on the climb to the Col Grand Saint Bernard to the south of Bovernier. On the first, the tourist office at Ornans stated that the trail is still blocked but that there is a diversion. Hikers have said the route is passable with care (I suggest checking with the tourist office for the latest information when in Ornans). The administrators of the Road to Rome FB group confirmed that the Bovernier – Sembrancher path has been repaired but they warn of the possibility of snow avalanches in the area.
Additionally the new official route from Viterbo to Vetralla via San Martino al Cimino is temporarily blocked for tree felling. Pilgrims should follow the prior route leaving Viterbo by Porta di Valle.
