Stage 63 – revised route approaching Vercelli

The paths through the rice fields between Montonero and Vercelli have become blocked. The AEVF advise to turn north after passing through Montonero, recross the SP11 head north of the railway tracks before turning east and passing close to the Decathlon sports store and entering Vercell i on the cycle track close to corso Torino. This will add approximately 3km to your day. The Amici della Via Francigena di Vercelli have marked a shorter diversion initially heading north from Cascine Stra. The more adventurous could consider remaining north of the SP11 from (14.6) passing on the north side of cascina Castelloneon and heading east on the unmarked farm track before joining the amici route after 2 km and saving 4 km on the day.
